The Artist Lounge
The Artist Lounge is the creative heartbeat of our academy — a flexible, welcoming space designed for connection, collaboration, and content creation. Outfitted with industry-standard DJ equipment, comfortable seating, and a kitchenette, the lounge blurs the line between workspace and hangout. It’s a place to unwind after a session, connect with other artists, or capture a live stream or DJ set in a laid-back, professionally-equipped environment.
This is where conversations spark collaborations, where ideas flow as freely as music. More than just a lounge, this space reflects the communal spirit of dance music culture — a reminder that the best music scenes are built not only in the studio, but in the in-between moments: sharing tracks, telling stories, and building relationships that last beyond the dancefloor.
The Frankie Knuckles Studio
Named after the Godfather of House Music, the Frankie Knuckles Studio is the crown jewel of our space — a fully-equipped production and recording studio built for artists serious about developing their craft. This studio features a dedicated vocal booth, production workstation, and industry-standard DJ gear, making it a versatile space for writing, recording, mixing, and practicing.
Frankie Knuckles transformed Chicago nightlife in the late ’70s and ’80s, turning the Warehouse into a sanctuary for musical innovation, inclusivity, and self-expression. In that spirit, this studio is designed to empower artists to find their voice, refine their sound, and push creative boundaries. Whether you’re laying down a vocal, fine-tuning a mix, or preparing for a DJ set, the Frankie Knuckles Studio is where ideas become reality.
The Ron Hardy Studio
The Ron Hardy Studio honors one of Chicago’s most fearless and influential DJs — a pioneer whose sets at the Music Box were legendary for their raw energy, experimental selections, and boundary-pushing edits. Hardy’s approach was loud, unpredictable, and deeply rooted in the underground — values we carry into this dedicated DJ training space.
This studio is purpose-built for students focused on the art of DJing — designed to support practice, recording, and content creation. It’s a space to sharpen technical skills, experiment with sound, and build the confidence to command a dancefloor. The Ron Hardy Studio encourages artists to be bold — to challenge convention, trust their ears, and develop a style that’s truly their own.
The hot mix 5 Studio
Named after the iconic radio collective that brought house music into the homes, cars, and headphones of Chicago listeners, the Hot Mix 5 Studio is a versatile space that bridges DJ culture and music production. In the early ’80s, the Hot Mix 5 redefined what radio could be — blending disco, house, electro, and underground sounds into something fresh and future-facing. They shaped taste, broke records, and inspired generations of DJs and producers.
Our Hot Mix 5 Studio carries that same spirit of innovation and accessibility. Available for limited tenancy and student bookings, it’s outfitted with tools for both production and DJing — a hybrid environment where artists can develop their skills across disciplines. Whether you’re laying down an original track, refining a DJ routine, or preparing for a performance, this studio is built to support artists ready to broadcast their sound to the world.
